Ways To Impact
Make A Gift
The Arc of Southwest Georgia meets the challenges facing those with all abilities and most vulnerable in our community every day by delivering lifesaving programs and services. Your gift today will give those most at risk the opportunity to develop the skills to move from crisis to stability.
COVID-19 Response & How You Can Help
During the COVID-19 health crisis, The Arc of Southwest Georgia depends on volunteers’ support as much as ever to bring community connection and caring to people who come to us for aid. We are asking volunteers to be part of our mission through some new “projects-from-home” and by moving some existing activities online. Also, we’ve added a couple of volunteer projects to support and encourage our amazing, dedicated staff of caseworkers, shelter assistants, and food distributors who are on the front lines daily.
Here’s how you can help
IN-PERSON VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
- Food Distribution
- Food Package Assembler
REMOTE VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
- Sew Face Coverings
- Write Letters and Poems to Support Our Staff
- Pro Bono Attorneys
- Financial Stability Network Mentors and Educators
We will add to the list as we develop more ways volunteers can help.
Interested in Volunteering with Us?
At The Arc of Southwest Georgia (formerly Albany Advocacy Resource Center), we have several paths potential volunteers can follow which allow them to engage with the people we support and which help us to fulfill our inclusion mission. Each path is in our Volunteer Application Packet.
If you have questions as you complete our volunteer process, please reach out by email or phone to Shannon Rogers, Director of Development & Communications, email@example.com, 229-888-6852 ext. 365. We look forward to having you join The Arc of Southwest Georgia as a volunteer!
Interested in Partnering with Us?
As public transportation is already limited in our rural region, we are in great need of expanded transportation options within our own agency. Having access to vehicles with chairlifts and other accessible features would allow us to greatly expand our services and the number of individuals we could serve.
While we currently serve over 600 individuals with disabilities, we know that thousands of Georgia’s families are on waiting lists to receive services right this very moment. Will you help us gain the mobility to care for more families this year?
Choose a level:
Since its inception, The Arc of Southwest Georgia has envisioned a world in which people of all abilities experience the same opportunities, rights, and freedoms as inclusive members of the community. Support from corporate partners makes this vision a reality. Business and foundation partnerships establish a lasting legacy of community stewardship and influence others in the business community to join us in our endeavor to promote dignity, personal freedom, and acceptance for individuals with disabilities.
With almost a quarter of the population having a developmental or physical disability, our corporate membership program ensures that we are able to stay true to our mission of turning disabilities into possibilities while promoting the general welfare of those we serve. Support from donors helps us make it possible for them to lead happier lives.

What We Believe
We believe all individuals, regardless of disabilities or exceptional needs, have strengths, abilities, and inherent value and should experience the same opportunities, rights and freedoms as inclusive members of the community.
